“Welcome everyone to episode 86 of Z! True Long Island Story, I am your host, the Internet Champion Long Island Iced Z, Zack Ryder.”
For 86 consecutive weeks WWE superstar Zack Ryder has been attempting to get noticed by the WWE fans in order to help increase his roll in the WWE. When Ryder started this show on February 17, 2011 he hadn’t been featured on WWE TV at all that year. Now Zack Ryder has turned himself into one of the most popular superstars in the business.
In early 2011 Zack Ryder was fighting for his job. He wasn’t being used on TV and he didn’t have a huge enough fan fallowing to keep his job. Instead of just waiting for the inevitable “future endeavors” call (When the WWE fire a superstar they wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors) Ryder began to shoot, a wrestling term which means to break story line and talk about how you really feel, on a new YouTube show.
Throughout the 86 episodes of Z! True Long Island Story Zack Ryder used a series of jokes, using insider wrestling terms, to make light of the fact that he felt he was being misused by the WWE. In one episode Zack Ryder shows a demonstration of a person in a WWE t-shirt dropping a ball while a voice over stated “This is the WWE dropping the ball with Zack Ryder, any questions?”
The crowd reaction to this YouTube show was impressive as the crowd began to cheer for Ryder even though he wasn’t on TV. The chants escalated to the point that “We want Ryder” chants were appearing during almost every segment each week on Raw. Zack Ryder went from one of the least known superstars on the roster to everyone’s favorite underdog.
Ultimately Zack Ryder’s hard work paid off as he won his first singles title on December 18, 2011 when he defeated Dolph Ziggler for the United States championship.
Even though he has been more successful within the WWE he is slowly started to lose his role on TV as he is only being used in short matches, which are normally loses. Ryder still puts out a new episode of his YouTube show every Friday and the Ryder Revolution is still growing strong. In the words of Zack Ryder himself “Woo Woo Woo You Know It”

A couple of spelling and grammar mistakes, and also I have no idea what WWE stands for… I mean, I know it’s world wrestling … something, but I have no idea what the E stands for, so I would suggest stating what the acronym stands for in the beginning when you first say “WWE”.

I like the way you write. It’s clever and it has definite personality to it. I can feel that you really like posting about this which makes me more interested in reading about this topic, wrestling, which I hate, so good job in making me interested!

In the words of Zack Ryder himself “Woo Woo Woo You Know It” These three sentences all basically say the same thing; Zack Ryder made himself successful. Maybe cut some of these things out or make something new out of these sentences?

I used to watch RAW with my Dad while I was home, I thought this was a really good post. You explained all wrestling terms a lot of people might not know, and you did a good job showing how he really did come out of no where. One problem is a few spelling or grammar mistakes throughout. Also I was pretty interested and I know it was already pretty long, but if you added a little bit about his reign as champion or how he lost the tittle, that would’ve been a good addition.
I might add that, it was a quick drop after such a meteoric rise. Thank you.
