Albany gets RAW

Athleticism, comedy, story telling and pyrotechnics collided in the Times Union Center as the WWE Superstars performed on September 24th for a live Monday Night Raw. The night was filled with many amazing performances and surprises.

The biggest surprise of the night was when WWE legend Mick Foley made a surprise appearance to talk to WWE champion CM Punk about Punk’s recent alliance with Mick Foley’s former boss and close friend Paul Heyman. The two participated in a war of words that electrified the live crowd and kept everyone on the edge of their seats.

The best match of the night was surprisingly the opening contest between the Money In The Bank holder Dolph Ziggler and Kofi Kingston. This match had so many close finishes that the crowd was indecisive as to whether certain pin-falls were close two counts or three counts. The match concluded when Dolph Ziggler hit the Zig Zag out of nowhere for a three count.

The live Albany crowd was also treated to the TV return of the worlds largest athlete the Big Show who came down to the ring and knocked out both Brodus Clay and Tensai, who are large athletes in their own right.

Following the TV taping that aired live on the USA network from 8:00 P.M. until 11:05 P.M. the live crowd was treated to a special match that saw World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus beat WWE Champion CM Punk by disqualification after Punk hit Sheamus in the head with his Championship belt. After the match Sheamus hit CM Punk with the Brogue kick to send the live crowd home happy.

Ultimately the crowd seemed very into the show as there were signs everywhere and it was hard to hear a lot of the speaking segments over the live crowd. There didn’t seem to be a dull moment from the crowd or from the WWE superstars.
